Navchandi Path and Shatchandi Path are done to please the mighty goddess Durga, it is a worship of the 9 forms of the almighty goddess. The nine forms of the goddess that are worshipped duriing the pooja are Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri, Siddhidatri.
